Lakshmi Rai to star in James Cameron’s film?

Actress Lakshmi Rai has been busy shooting for her upcoming Malayalam film opposite Mohanlal in the sandy deserts of Abu Dhabi.  The actress, who has been sweating it out under the hot Gulf sun, has reasons to rejoice and jump in the air.  For, she has been assured a role in his next film by none other than Hollywood’s James Cameron himself!

Cameron was in Dubai to attend the ‘Abu Dhabi Media Summit’ and deliver a lecture on the use of 3-D techniques in films when director Priyadarshan met him.  Cameron casually told him that he wanted to watch in person how ‘the shooting of an Indian film is conducted’ and the very next day, Cameron was at the shooting spot.

Cameron’s visit thrilled everyone as he watched the proceedings for close to an hour and appreciated the director, technicians and the crew of the film.  At that time, Lakshmi Rai got the opportunity to converse with Cameron.  She narrated to him in detail about the history of Indian films and expressed her wish to star in a film to be made in future by the ‘Avatar’ director.

Lakshmi Rai claims that she has been assured by Cameron that he would consider casting her in a role in one of his films to be made in future.  “I would soon be meeting Cameron again in California and hope to be cast by him,” says a beaming Lakshmi Rai.
